Schecter Ultra III

Schecter Guitar Research unveiled their new ULTRA III model at the recent Winter NAMM 2005 Winter Show.

Described by Schecter’s Marc LaCorte as a “retro-ized version of our standard Ultra model,” the new ULTRA III features the ‘looks’ of a 60's pawnshop prize, but with modern features.

Specs include a sculptured mahogany body, set-in mahogany neck with a 25.5” scale rosewood fingerboard. The III’s versatile tones are attained by three newly designed Duncan FG-101 mini humbuckers, which are controlled via 3 on/off/on mini slider switches, allowing a multitude of sonic combinations.

An original Bigsby vibrato unit adds another dose of ‘old school’ charm and functionality to the ULTRA III, along with the Ultra III’s new ‘hood-style’ raised metal Diamond Logo.

A choice OF finishes includes Vintage Crème, Wine Red and Gloss Black and will have a MSRP of $799.00

The Ultra III will be available at Authorized Schecter Dealers Nation-Wide in March. For more information : www.schecterguitars.com

Peavey 6505™ Series Amplifiers Replace 5150® Guitar Amplifiers

6505™ SERIES REPLACES 5150® GUITAR AMPLIFIERS

January 20, 2005

ANAHEIM, CA—Peavey proudly introduces its 6505 Series guitar amplifiers, named in celebration of Peavey's first 40 years, 1965 to 2005. The 6505 is also the relaunch of the 5150 Series, the immensely popular amplifiers Peavey designed with Edward Van Halen.
As previously announced, when Peavey and Van Halen parted ways amicably in December 2004, Van Halen retained the 5150 name while Peavey retained the amp's tone and circuitry. In fact, Peavey made only one alteration to the 5150 before relaunching it as the 6505: changing the logo beneath its metal grille. Rest assured, the signature raw rock tones guitar players have known and loved for the past 14 years are alive, loud and proud in the Peavey 6505 Series.

6505 Series amps feature five 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC power amp tubes, with presence and resonance controls and three-band EQ for taming their notorious tone. These amps are available in a standard 120 Watt head (6505 and 6505+) and a 60 Watt 2x12 combo with two Peavey Sheffield® loudspeakers (6505 212). The matching 6505 412 cabinets are outfitted with four Sheffield loudspeakers.

While known as the 5150, these amps became the undisputed go-to guitar amps for scores of rock, hardcore and metal bands due to their raw tone, relentless power and road-proven reliability. The 6505 is still the unquestionable choice for an ever-expanding list of endorsers, including 3 Doors Down, Ted Nugent, Atreyu, Steve Morse, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Visqueen, God Forbid, HIMSA, Darkest Hour, Sworn Enemy, Unearth and many more.

Peavey 6505 Series amplifiers will be available in February 2005 from authorized Peavey retailers. For more information : www.peavey.com
